our ministry

what we do

We are devoted to helping people physically and emotionally, especially the poor and marginalised. We run a medical clinic, provide homes and schooling for children in need, and accommodation/rehabilitation for patients needing long-term medical care.

The medical clinic at Hohidiai sees up to 12,000 patients a year and offers free general medical, optical and dental care. These patients are amongst the poorest and without the clinic, may not have been able to receive care and treatment for their illnesses.
Since the medical clinic was established, the services Hohidiai provide have grown as the needs of the community cry out to be met. Children who were unwanted or ‘at risk’, often found their way into the hearts and homes of families on the base.
Hohidiai School has Indonesian teachers and we are currently using Australian accredited curriculum and Indonesian national curriculum. Students come from a diverse range of backgrounds, well educated families and also underprivileged families.
Volunteers are greatly appreciated in all areas of Hohidiai’s work. Your time and expertise is a great encouragement to Hohidiai, as well as getting work done!

Hohidiai relies on the generous support of donations and volunteers.
