what we do
We are devoted to helping people physically and emotionally, especially the poor and marginalised. We run a medical clinic, provide homes and schooling for children in need, and accommodation/rehabilitation for patients needing long-term medical care.
The medical clinic sees up to 12,000 patients a year and offers free medical, dental and eye care to those who need it. The medical clinic also has an in-patient facility, a birthing centre and leprosy, TB and HIV/AIDs treatment/rehabilitation centres. Indonesian nationals are being trained to be medical and health care workers, and we also provide community education to help prevent the spread of diseases.
Caring for children
More than 50 children live in family group homes (with between 4-8 children) at Hohidiai and receive education, food, shelter, love and support. The number of children in care continues to grow and as do the costs involved in providing staff, food, clothing, medical care and education. This led to the need to set up a sponsorship program.
Hohidiai relies on the generous support of donations and volunteers.
Hohidiai is devoted to helping people physically and emotionally, especially the poor and marginalised.
We run a medical clinic, provide accommodation for orphaned and abandoned children and rehabilitation for patients needing long-term medical care in North Maluku, Indonesia.
